1976 — Washington DC becomes the gun-grabbingest city in the US of A by passing the Firearms Control Regulations Act of 1975. 2005 — The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana issues a temporary restraining order barring any further gun confiscations in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and ordering the return of lawfully owned firearms to their owners.
