1996 — Statutory Orders and Regulations 98-207: Authorizations to Carry Restricted Firearms and Certain Handguns Regulations, is laid before each House of the Canadian Parliament. The regulations further entrench all of Canada as a "may issue" jurisdiction, guaranteeing that only the politically well-connected are able to carry firearms to defend their own lives.
