  • 1919 — Canadian World War II veteran and chief executive officer of The War Amps, Clifford Chadderton is born in Fort William, Ontario.
  • 1980 — In Norco, California, five masked gunman hold up a Security Pacific bank, leading to a violent shoot-out and one of the largest pursuits in California history. Such was its impact that even today it is still used to train law enforcement personnel in anti-terrorism and survival tactics.
