2006 — Responsibility for the Canadian Firearms Program was transferred from the Ministry of Public Safety to the RCMP. 2013 — California Attorney General Kamala Harris announced that microstamping had cleared all technological and patenting hurdles (orly?) and would be required on newly sold semiautomatics, effective immediately.
