Colorado: Committee Hearing Tomorrow on State FFL Licensing Bill

Tomorrow, May 2nd, the Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing on House Bill 24-1353, creating a state level licensing scheme of federally licensed firearms dealers. Please contact members of the committee NOW by using the Take Action button and ask them to OPPOSE this bill!

Kansas: Legislature Adjourns Sine Die From 2024 Session

On Wednesday, May 1st, the Kansas Legislature adjourned sine die from the 2024 legislative session.

Alaska: Red Flag Hearing This Afternoon

This afternoon, the Senate State Affairs Committee will be holding a public hearing at 3:30pm on Senate Bill 229, a Red Flag bill “relating to gun violence protective orders.” Please contact members of the committee directly by using the Take Action button below and ask them to OPPOSE SB 229. Public testimony options are also available on the legislature website here.

Hawaii: House and Senate to Vote On Revised Ammunition Restriction Bill

As early as Wednesday, May 1st, the Hawaii House and Senate will vote on Senate Bill 2845, which prohibits persons under the age of 21 from purchasing or possessing ammunition. Both chambers will be voting on the Conference Committee draft that provides very limited exceptions to the new age restrictions for ammunition and would now take effect upon passage. These expected votes come just days before the legislature is scheduled to adjourn on Friday, May 3rd.

Alabama: Credit Card Data Privacy Bill Passes House

On Tuesday, April 30th, Senate Bill 281, the gun owner financial privacy bill, was passed in the House by a margin of 85-5 and now heads to the governor's desk for a signature. 

New Hampshire: Critical Pro-Gun Vote on Thursday

On Thursday, May 2nd, the New Hampshire Senate will be voting on House Bill 1186, an act relating to the use of firearm-specific merchant category codes. House Bill 1186 prohibits the assigning of a specific merchant category code to the sale of firearms, ammunition, or firearm accessories, and provides a civil penalty for violations of this prohibition.

Vermont: "Ghost Gun" Bill Up for Senate Vote This Week

This week the Vermont Senate is slated to vote on S. 209, also known as "Vermont's Ghost Gun Bill." S. 209 mandates all firearms and firearm parts to be serialized and creates “gun free” zones around all voting locations. NRA members and gun rights supporters are urged to contact their Senator NOW and request they vote NO on S. 209 by using the Take Action button below.
