[edit] Overview

The Zastava M77 B1 rifle chambers and fires the 7.62x51mm NATO round. It is gas-operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed, selective fire firearm with a fixed stock.

Like the Zastava M72 LMG, this weapon is also a variant of the Soviet RPK design. Except for the fact that it is chambered for the NATO version of the 7.62mm cartridge instead of its Soviet counterpart, this weapon is mechanically virtually identical to the M72.
