The M72/M72A is a modern military light machine gun developed and manufactured by Zastava Arms of Kragujevac, Republic of Serbia. The M72/M72A is designed on the basis of famous Kalashnikov rifles from Russia, which was proven in numerous wars fought worldwide in the last fifty years of its honorable service.

It is essentially a Yugoslavian variant of the Soviet RPK LMG.
