- 2006 — Lt. Colonel John Dean "Jeff" Cooper died peacefully at his home in Paulden, Arizona, after battling several health problems in recent years. He was survived by his widow, Janelle Cooper; three daughters, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
- 2010 — Canadian gun grabber Mike McCormack is convicted of insubordination while a member of the police service, for illegally accessing information on former Toronto Star reporter John Duncanson (an award-winning journalist who specialized in covering police corruption).
