1831 — Scottish-Canadian inventor and arms designer James Paris Lee, best known for inventing the bolt action that made Lee-Metfords Lee-Enfields possible, is born in Hawick, Scotland. 1909 — The Tobin Arms Manufacturing Company, Limited, was incorporated with its principal place of business in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.
