Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? BSA stands for Birmingham Small Arms. The English company was established in 1861. During the summer of 1931, it was rumoured that Remington was about to acquire Winchester. Later that year Winchester was in fact sold to the Western Cartridge Company. With over 7,000,000 sold, the Remington 870 holds the record for the best-selling shotgun in US history, but has not matched the longevity of the Winchester model 12 (which was produced for over 90 years)
