US Air Force Reserve (USAFR) Staff Sergeant (SSGT) Jerry Westlake, 39th Operations Support Squadron (OSS) use a Remington 870 12-gague shotgun loaded with pyrotechnical shells (blanks) as a last resort to scare off unwanted birds in flight, while conducting the Bird and Strike Hazard (BASH) program at Incirlik Air Base (AB), Turkey.
