In 1996 there was a merger between Lakefield Arms (Ontario), Savage Arms Inc., and Passive Bullet Traps Inc., amalgamating under the name Savage Sports Incorporated. The only version of the Madsen sold in any quantity was the .30 caliber (.30-06). These were bought by Columbia.
