  • 1789 — The United States Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment, was proposed to the American Congress.
  • 2006 — Louisiana House Bill 760, which prohibits the confiscation of firearms in a state of emergency (as some military personnel had refused to do in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina), unless the seizure is pursuant to the investigation of a crime, or if the seizure is necessary to prevent immediate harm to the officer or another individual.
