FORT A.P. HILL, Va. - Cpl. John E. Long engages targets with an M-249 Squad Automatic Weapon during a live-fire exercise on the machine gun range at Fort A.P. Hill, Va. Firing weapons systems, everything from the .50 caliber heavy machine gun to the Squad Automatic Weapon light machine gun, was important during training to give Marines an understanding of the function and relevance of these weapons.
