The Second Amendment to the Constitution's Bill of Rights declares that "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." There you have it — it's a right, not a privilege and it belongs to the People, not to the state. Such simple, straightforward and honest language. You'd think that no one would ever have any trouble figuring it out.
