1916 — In one of the worst accidents in the history of the British explosives industry, a huge explosion ripped through the gunpowder mill at Uplees, near Faversham, when 200 tons of TNT and ammonium nitrate ignited. 2010 — The Canadian National Firearms Association produces the Briefing Paper On Reclassification of Firearms and Related Issues, in response to notices sent to owners of registered Norinco Type 97 rifles and High Standard Model 10B shotguns, ordering them to surrender their firearm(s) and registration certificates.
