In 1996 there was a merger between Lakefield Arms (Ontario), Savage Arms Inc., and Passive Bullet Traps Inc., amalgamating under the name Savage Sports Incorporated.
The 22-250 is based on the 250-3000 Savage case necked down to .22 caliber and is so named because of the caliber (22) and the parent case (250).
During the summer of 1931, it was rumoured that Remington was about to acquire Winchester. Later that year Winchester was in fact sold to the Western Cartridge Company.
