About this template
This template is used to generate a random display of a snippet of one of the Gunsopedia's featured articles on the main page. As it is a prime content template, there are a few things that should be kept in mind:
- This is a site template which should NOT be modified in any way by those who are not Gunsopedia sysops or admins. If by some chance you should find that you are able to alter this template but you are not a site sysop, please notify the admins ASAP.
- This template should NOT be confused with the "Featured article" (singular, not plural) template, which is used to tag an article as being featured.
- If you have an article that you think should be included in the featured list, this is one of the places where you can bring that up. Simply go to the discussion page for this template and make your case there.

Below is a sample of what the template contents will look like on the main page:
The Soviet AK-47 assault rifle
Like the Nazi German Sturmgewehr 44, the AK-47 was designed around the thinking that the vast majority of infantry combat would take place at ranges of under 300 yards. It is therefore chambered for the lower-powered, but still impressive, 7.62x39mm Soviet cartridge.
Its true fame, however, comes from its legendary reliability. It has been said that it would still fire after being run over by a tank, and that when the end of the world comes, all that will be left are cockroaches and AK-47s. Surprisingly few would disagree.
